Chief Daniel Brown

Chief Dan Brown was named Chief of Police for the City of Winslow in May 2017, after serving as Chief in St. Johns from 2014–2017.

He began his career with Mesa PD in 1998 and was a founding sergeant of Maricopa PD. He later served as a Commander with Gila River PD before moving to northeastern Arizona.

Chief Brown has served as academy sergeant at ALEA, CARLOTA, and NALETA; was President of the Apache County Youth Council; 2017 President of the Northeast Arizona Police Association; and co-founded the Apache County Alliance to Prevent Sexual & Domestic Violence.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and Arizona National Guard, he holds a B.S. in Education and an M.A. in Administration from Northern Arizona University. He is a graduate of the 267th FBI National Academy session, the Southern Police Institute Chief Executive Leadership Course, and the Arizona Leadership Program.

Chief Brown and his wife Rhea have been married since 1994 and have one adult daughter.
