John Bennett began his law enforcement career in 1972 with Marple Twp. PD in suburban Philadelphia where he rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Chief.  In 2002, he accepted the position as Chief of Police with the Caln Twp. PD, also in suburban Philadelphia.  In 2008, he was appointed Chief of Police of the Paradise Valley PD where he served until his retirement in 2014 after completing 42 years in the law enforcement profession.

 John holds a B.A. degree from Villanova University and is a graduate of Penn State University’s POSIT and POLEX programs.  He also attended the 188th session of the FBI National Academy and the FBI LEEDS program at Princeton University.

 John was elected to the AACOP Executive Board in 2009 and served as President in 2012.  He also served on the East Valley Chiefs Executive Board and was their 1st Vice-President at the time of his retirement.

 He is still an active member of the FBI National Academy Associates, FBI LEEDA, AACOP (retired section) and is a life member of the IACP and FOP Lodge #27.  John also currently volunteers as a Committee Member of the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation (AZ Chapter).
