Police Chief Roberto A. Villaseņor was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. In October 1980 he joined the Tucson Police Department, holding many different assignments and working his way up the ranks until being appointed Chief of Police in May 2009. He is an undergraduate of Park University and holds a Masters Degree from the Northern Arizona University. In addition he graduated from the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA and the Senior Management Institute for Police sponsored by Harvard University.
Chief Villaseņor oversees the second largest police department in the State with nearly 1,500 members. The Tucson Police Department has maintained national accreditation since 2001 with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). TPD has also been recognized nationally as a leader in innovative law enforcement technology and community policing. |
